  1. Great idea,
    for the same token, you could probably also use mosquito or fly screen, either metal or plastic fiber.

  2. If you cut the screen at 45° angle (so that grid is not horizontal and vertical) it even more resembles “tornado” fencing. Straight pins work well as the posts for “S” sacle (and others)and can be inserted so that they interweave with the wire mesh for stability with no glue, solder, etc. Can also straighten and clip paper clips to serve as posts.
